Last night Ford Middle East marked #MustangRises – the official arrival of the 2015 Ford Mustang in the region (finally, you say!) with a spectacular launch held at the Burj Khalifa.

A specially invited group of journalist rode up to the 112th floor of the Burj Khalifa, where the car was revealed on the outside deck, as a pair of helicopters swooped past us daringly close.

It was staged as part of film which you can watch here, about getting the famed Pony badge to the first car in the UAE.

Watch the video from around the 50minute mark. Yeah I know…

I though Tom Cruise was about to abseil down the side of the building any moment!

Here’s a shorter edit

In fact it was Bill Ford, the great-grandson of Henry Ford, who walked in with the final missing piece of the Mustang jigsaw – for this car was transported up in PIECES! in the service elevators – the chrome pony to attach to the grille!

It’s the same car that was displayed at the top of the Empire State Building earlier this year.

A team of six engineers travelled with the special Mustang from Ford’s world headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan to Dubai. Once the car arrived in Dubai, it was transported to the base of Burj Khalifa and carefully separated into six sections that could be transported to the 112th level. The team reassembled the vehicle over approximately 12 hours.

And this is how they put it together on the 112th floor!

We already have prices for the new Mustang here.
