We knew it would be fast, but this fast? General Motors has revealed the power figures for the new 6.2-litre supercharged V8 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and it’s a whopper.
Get ready for this: the Z06 will have 650 horsepower at 6400rpm and 650lb ft of torque at a mere 3,600rpm, making it most the powerful production car General Motors has ever produced. More powerful than a McLaren 650s (a mere 641bhp) or Viper (640bhp) or even the new Huracan (a child’s toy with just 610bhp). It’s neck and neck with the Ferrari FF (651bhp) and with a little tuning, might even best the mighty Ferrari F12. Forget about the old Z06 (505bhp) or ZR1 (604bhp).
That we’re even talking a of Chevy in relation to these exotics shows how far GM has come. And you better believe they’ve kept something in reserve for the inevitable ZR1 version in a few years…
