Swiss luxury smart phones
By Shahzad Sheikh
The 151-year old Swiss watch maker, TAG Heuer, has just come out with a new smart phone.
Swiss-engineered and French built – hopefully that doesn’t mean it’s powered by clockwork and will fall to bits the first time you use it – it features a touchscreen interface and upgradeable Google Andriod software.
To keep things ticking over (see what I did there) at a decent speed, it runs a 1 GHZ processor boasts a 16-million colour screen resolution, a 3.5-inch display, 5 mega-pixel camera, 11 hours of music play time and access to over 250,000 applications.

Engineered like a watch
Here’s the watchy bit though, the body is said to be engineered like the case of a TAG Heuer watch: shockproof, airtight and strong. It’s got screws which echo those on the casebacks of their chronographs.
There’s mirror-polished and fine-brushed stainless steel – premium grade stuff of course – and the front is made of damage-resistent Gorilla glass. The handworked coverings are either in calfskin, alligator or lizard.
Lizard? Lizard?!
