Lamborghini Aventador Roadster

We love the Lamborghini Aventador – it’s a proper supercar. Read our review here.

So what could possibly be better than this utterly slash-tastic sculpture of sublime speed? They same thing but with no roof.

Oh there was that windowless one-off Aventador J, with a price so stratospheric people bought Bugattis Grand Sports instead, but this is the new production version.

1300 Aventadors coupes have already been delivered since it was launched in Summer last year, which wouldn’t surprise people in Dubai, as there seem to be plenty on our roads.

For the new Roadster the two-piece roof is made from carbon fibre and weights less than 6kg. You simply remove the panels and store them in the front luggage compartment.

The roofline and rear pillar has been redesigned. The engine cover is also different with a central ‘spinal column’.

The Roadster gets a two-tone finish and a new colour now available includes a light metallic blue colour, Azzuro Thetis which reacts to the angle of light.

Inside there’s new leather, Sabbia Nefertem, to match the paintwork. New rims, 20-inch at the front and 21 at the back, also reduced the weight of the car by 10kg.

Performance remains ultra-quick with 0-100kph in 3 seconds and a maximum speed of 350kph from 700bhp V12.
