Didn’t go to the Dubai 24 Hours this year? Well here’s your chance to catch up on all the exciting on-track action! (Ed: not really) Click through to see more.

Truth be told, we’re not huge motorsport enthusiasts here at MME, so when we went to this year’s event, we went to see what it was like behind the scenes at the biggest race in the UAE.

As expected there were lots of race cars…

…but also, just lots really, really nice cars and people desperate to photograph them. Which always makes me wonder why they bother, since it’s not hard to find incredibly high quality photography of any supercar you can imagine.

Some folks get the dirty jobs. Bet you he's not a racing enthusiast.

No matter the race, there’s always someone who has to clean it all up.

Every racer swears by some bizarre concoction of fruit or energy drinks which keeps them going through the long, lonely hours.

Rarely works though. Most racers catch a bit of shut-eye whenever, and wherever they can.

For others like fan favourite Manabu Orido, all they need is a decent smoke and time to chat on the old cellphone.

The tension never really lets up, even for the spectators.

Even for the folks officially on duty, things can get kinda dull.

As the night drew on, the number of spectators dwindled, except for a few die-hards.

For the teams, it’s a punishing experience fraught with danger and filled with incident, but I’m not sure that fans would find endurance racing very exciting to watch, especially in a country which is still very new to the concept of proper regulated motorsport. Still, you owe it to yourself to check out it out at least once.
