Scirocco R to storm Dubai Motor Show
Much awaited supethot Volkswagen finally arrives

Along with the full line up of Volkswagen cars, including the all-new Jetta, the recently launched Touareg, Golf GTI and Golf R, the star of the show is the much-awaited Scirocco R, making its regional debut at the show and finally going on sale soon.
It gets a meatier body kit, lowered ride height, 19-inch rims for a tougher looking stance. Under the bonnet is the GTI’s 2.0-litre four cylinder but turbocharged up to 261bhp with 258lb ft of torque. Through VW’s magnificence DSG gearbox, this will all be channelled to the front wheels only.

So as you churn up the tarmac, and the front axle tries to rip itself away from the body, you’ll hit 100kph in just 6.4secs (if you can get traction) and hit a maximum of 250kph in this little tearaway. We can’t wait to try it!
Sadly the all-new Beetle will not be putting in an appearance at the Dubai show, which is a shame. We were hoping the very tasty looking, potentially perception-changing Beetle R concept might land here. Really wantey to take a close up shufti at that.
