It’s our Dirty Dozen Meet marking the first anniversary of MME – and it’s already our biggest yet

[UPDATE – Here’s a report from the EVENT]

You do NOT want to miss this one!

MME Car and Bike Meet 12 is our first one of the season after the summer hiatus, it marks our first anniversary of existence and we’ve already had to move the venue to a much bigger location after an overwhelming initial response since we announced it less than two weeks ago on our Facebook page >>> https://www.facebook.com/MotoringMiddleEast

The Meet will be this Friday, 14th September at Dubai Festival City from 4 to 8pm. Make sure you get there early to get a good space. Please note, this is NOT the same car park where we held two meets earlier this year at the popular shopping and leisure facility. This time we’re in the overflow car park next to the Plug Ins store on the IKEA side of the Mall.

If you have a cool car, bike, truck or even an R/C car, you’re most welcome to park at the event. Entry is free to everyone and there is no need to register in advance, but you can confirm your attendance on our Facebook page. You don’t need to bring a cool car or bike to come – all are welcome!

In fact with just two days to go, there are over 500 confirmed attendances (the largest number we’ve ever had) on that page – check it out here >>>

And here you’ll find an incredible album of cars that will be in attendance >>> https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.429243220455258.89911.227677367278512&type=1

We’re expecting supercars, classics, modified metal, muscle cars, JDMs, super-hatches, trucks/4x4s/SUVs and much more, plus motor bikes and even R/C cars (including a miniature drifting track!). We’re delighted to be hosting several car and enthusiasts clubs who will be cruising in convoys in spectacular style!

What are these Meets all about? What happens there? We still get asked this question a lot. These are above all, informal social gatherings of like-minded people sharing a love of everything motorised. This video from Meet 2 early last year under the banner of CAR Middle East – our previous incarnation, gives you an insight, and there’s no better explanation than from those interviewed in it.

Meet 12 is supported by Dubai Festival City, EMSF, Chrysler Middle East, Al Futtaim Toyota, Rolling Art Emporium and Baremelon.com. We’re very grateful to them for helping us to make this Meet happen!

Check out this Ride-Around in the Red Baron – the signature Hot Rod car from Rolling Art Emporium driven by Gaurav Dhar at Dubai Festival City in March.

We will be aided on the day by some truly amazing people who’ve volunteered to give up their Friday afternoon to help us out, and you’ll know them from their cool T-Shirts courtesy of Baremelon.com. There will also be official volunteer marshals from the EMSF (Emirates Motor Sports Federation) and mall security will be on hand to ensure everyone stays safe and happy.

We’re expecting a phenomenal turn-out, so make sure you get there early to get a good space (we’ll be letting people in from 3:30pm). This especially applies to car clubs who would like to park their cars together.

The Parking Plan for the day is illustrated in this image.

MME Meet 12 area allocation

We want you, visitors, our helpers, spectators and mall-goers to have a safe, happy and enjoyable experience so there are some rules for the day, but they are simple and MUST be adhered to. Mall Security, EMSF staff and our Volunteers will eject anyone who doesn’t respect these rules:

  • Entry is free and there is no need to register, but we will have to close off the car park if we run out of space, so make sure you get there early!
  • Always abide by the instructions and advice of our volunteers and helpers – they’re there to ensure a safe, trouble-free and enjoyable afternoon.
  • Remember that traffic laws still apply within the car park area – this means no burnouts, wheel spins, drifting, sliding or any form of reckless driving will be tolerated.
  • Keep your speed down to walking pace only!
  • Please do not promote any commercial products or services at the event. Do not highlight brands, distribute leaflets/brochures/vouchers, or put up any flags, banners or promotional displays unless agreed upon with us in advance of the event.
  • Please be aware that photographers will be taking and posting/publishing photographs from this event online and in publications. TV film crews may also be present on the day.
  • If you are going to be playing music or showing videos on your in-car entertainment systems, keep volumes to a reasonable level, but most importantly, ensure that lyrics and video content is appropriate for public listening and viewing – remember this is a family-orientated event at a shopping mall.
  • You enter and park at the event venue at your own risk and MME will not accept responsibility for any injury, loss, theft or damage suffered by you or your vehicle.

Oh, and most importantly, have fun, check out the cool rides, make new friends and if you enjoy yourself, tell your mates about us and the Meet!
