New Kart Track in RAK
Ras Al Khaimah Kart Track opens
By Shahzad Sheikh
The brand new Ras Al Khaimah Kart Track will open tomorrow. It boasts a great layout and there are amazing two-seater karts on offer!
The new Kart Track in RAK is located just after the Jazirah Al Hamra ‘haunted village’ on the E11 between Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah, opposite the Ice Land Water Park – you can’t miss it.
We’ve already driven the track – in several different vehicles as you can see in these pictures – and it’s a tight and twisty delight with a couple of fast sweepers and a long straight. It’s a little too tight for cars, but great fun in a kart.
There’s a AED10 registration fee, after that it’s AED85 per session for children from 7-years old, and AED100 per session for adults. Sessions are about 15 minutes each.
The unique two-seater karts are great fun. You can either book them for an experience if you don’t want to drive the kart yourself, but want to feel what it’s really like to go that fast, that low to the ground. Or you can just do the steering whilst the instructor takes care of the brake and accelerator.
For those wanting to improve their lap times, the two-seater karts also enable them to get time with an instructor who can give guidance and help to improve racing lines and technique.
The track has packages for groups, parties, corporate events and also for kart owners that want to run their own racers. You can even buy karts, accessories and parts from the RAK Track Kart shop.
It’s open from 4pm till late every day. More details on their website www.ggikarting.com/raktrack
