Can Infiniti pull off a premium hatchback?

Infiniti Q30

Here’s a look at Infiniti’s sleek new Q30 concept, ahead of the hatch’s world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It’s the firm’s first foray into the C-segment premium hatch, occupied by the likes of the Audi A3 and the Mercedes A-Class.

Like all of those hatches, it’s got plenty going on styling wise with a Mazda6 style front end with sculpted haunches, character lines from a Merc A250 and the pinched rear bottom of a Scirocco, which means yet again, you won’t be able to see where you’ve been in a premium hatch. Well, unless you buy an A4, that is.

Infiniti says ‘the design of Q30 Concept is a unique fusion of body styles merging of the dynamic design and sportiness of a coupe, the roominess of a hatch and the higher stance of a crossover.’ So it’s the world’s first coupecrosshatch. Isn’t that what the Mercedes GLA is supposed to be?

Don’t ask what engine’s under that long sloping hood – that info is top secret until the Q30’s debut in Hall 5 of Frankfurt next month.

Not much more information revealed at the show, apart from the fact that this will be the basis of a compact SUV going into production in 2015 and made in the UK.

Dude check Infiniti/Nissan concepts since 2004 till now, you will understand where the styling came from, before you make stupid remarks of how the car looks like a mix of other cars, perhaps you will learn how Mazda ripped off the styling off the concept that turned out to be Q50 earlier this year, but no you will think Mazda is the innovator just because they released it in the ME first, because you don’t have the minimum knowledge of what a car editor should have..

[Imthishan] The Mazda Takeri concept which previewed the current ‘Kodo’ design language was revealed in November 2011.

I watched the live unveil of the Q50 from the show floor of the Detroit Motor Show in January.

        stop embarrassing yourself..
Essence, ETHEREA, Emerg-E, and Future EV, are all between 2004 and 2010, and the Q50 along with this one (Q30) and many others are the result of those concepts.. dude, i told you to check the concepts first but you insist on your false remarks..

zetallico, can’t you just inform the mistake politely instead of critizing his knowledge. Everyone can make mistake you know.
