Infiniti has announced that its new seven-seater JX ‘crossover’ SUV, revealed at Pebble Beach and then the LA car show, will go on sale in the Middle East in summer 2012.

Although no prices or final specs have been revealed the ‘2013’ JX is claimed to offer segment-leading passenger space, decent luggage space, ability to get into the third row without having to remove a child seat from the second row, surround-view, back-up collision intervention (a world first apparently), and the option of a Bose® Cabin Surround® 15-speaker sound system with digital 5.1-channel decoding and a new Acoustic Waveguide subwoofer.

Initially it will be offered with a 3.5-litre DOHC V6 petrol engine mated to a sport-tuned Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

“The all-new Infiniti JX encapsulates the DNA of all Infiniti’s Inspired Performance models to deliver distinctive looks and rewarding driving dynamics in a practical full seven-seat luxury crossover,” said Infiniti Middle East’s General Manager, Juergen Schmitz.

“Infiniti JX looks beyond the ordinary by adding innovation, the latest automotive technology, design flair and appealing driving dynamics reminiscent of performance sedans to the essential demands of practicality, comfort and safety. Infiniti JX stands in a class of its own both in terms of segment and range of features.

“JX is a vehicle of many talents and by optimizing every facet, Infiniti has taken the luxury segment to new highs. Combining design flair, rewarding driving dynamics and high levels of technology, both mechanically and in features, are the hallmarks of Infiniti’s Inspired Performance signature, which have been embedded into the DNA of this stand-out true seven-seat luxury vehicle. We look forward to introducing the Middle East to this all-new class of vehicle next summer,” concluded Schmitz.
