Frankfurt 2013: Volvo Concept Coupe
Showcases new platform that will give us the all-new XC90 next year

They may have forgotten to come up with an imaginative name for this car – resorting to ‘Volvo Concept Coupe’, because, well, that’s what it is – but it’s important because it’s said to showcase the company’s new Scalable Product Architecture and the new four-cylinder hybrid Drive-E engines.
Why is it important to us though? Because this is said to be the first in series of three concept cars that demonstrate the new design direction for the company, that will eventually lead to an all-new XC90 launched next year – previously a big seller in our region.
I know what you’re thinking. That’s a family SUV, and this is a rather grand coupe. Apparently it’s all about the stance and the proportions, we’re told.
Well let’s just wait and see what the other two concepts will look like.
