Frankfurt 2013: Peugeot 308 R Concept
It’s hardly radical, but it is sweet
By Shahzad Sheikh
According to Peugeot this 308 R concept ‘radicalises the boldness of the new 308 while expressing extreme sensation’ – don’t you just love press speak?
Anyway, we’re a bit befuddled by the extensive niche-filling range of Pugs, many of which are actually available here, but which no one seems to know about.
So this supposedly is a hot version of a 308 hatchback. And it would have an Opel Astra OPC-chasing 270bhp 1.6-litre four-pot engine, going through the front wheels through a six-speed manual and a Torsen differential.
If they put this into production, why might just head down to the showroom and ask for a test drive.
