We race in Chevrolet Arabia Corvette Challenge (Video)

Back at the Dubai Motor Show last month, we were challenged along with a number of others to take on Red Bull Athelete Abdo Feghali, in the Chevrolet Arabia Corvette Challenge.
We chickened out. Although that’s not quite how we put it of course. I mean just look at him. Who’d take him on?
Instead we nominated one of our readers, who kindly volunteered to be our ‘contender’ after we put out a call on our Facebook page.
MME reader Tarek Al Bani was not taking any chances either, he’d been practising on GranTurismo – the racing sim chosen for the challenge, all night!
The only problem was they’d built a custom track for the occassion.
Nonetheless, throughout the day his practice runs were consistently in the top five, and he moved slowly up the board to earn the right to be one of three challengers to take on ace wheelman and Camaro drift driver, Feghali, in a head-to-head.
He won! Well sort of. Actually he didn’t win – but he was the best loser. Therefore he did emerge champion on the day!
The rules were whoever could best or come closest to Feghali would win a thrilling ride of a lifetime his Camaro with him in the Red Bull Car Park Drift the following day.

‘What a great experience filled with burnt tires smell, I wish it lasted for hours,’ exclaimed Tarek. ‘Abdo was relaxed to the point of turning on the AC!! His control over the car was unbelievable and really tamed this drifting beast. BIG thanks to MME team for this experience!’
Meanwhile, the guys at Chevrolet Arabia just would not let Team MME go without finding out, who was the better driver – Shahzad or Imthishan.
Imthishan had had a few practice runs earlier in the day, but Shahzad hadn’t touched the game at all, so the odds were against the senior of the duo.
