Motoring Podcasts – Autodrone revisted

A few years ago, I caught up again with an old mate Peter Hall – we had worked on GM brochures together in previous lives in the advertising and printing industries. Peter has always been way ahead of me when it comes to technology, and had started PodMe.Org, a blanket holding setup for a series of Dubai-based podcasts (I didn’t even know what a ‘podcast’ was at the time!).
I remember him saying to me, ‘You know a bit about cars, and you can talk the hind legs off a donkey: why don’t you come in to the studio?’
‘Autodrone’ became a series of 80-odd chatshow-style podcasts on things motoring, with local, and when I could get them, overseas guests.
We talked about cars and car things and generally vented off about anything that bothered us.
It only really stopped when Peter got busy with other things and we couldn’t get another editor (someone had to put the bits together properly, and the technology was way beyond this Luddite) who was able to bring the same feel to the recordings.
It was fun whilst it lasted, and I kind of miss doing them, but I was delighted to find that some are now available free on i-Tunes!
