As part of a daily themed event, today was the turn of supercars and sportscars with a spectacular array of cars ranging from the Lamborghini Aventador to a Porsche 959. Plus a Camaro converted into a Trans Am and a modern Mustang customised to look like a classic Shelby in the guise of a Eleanor.

The Porsche 959 is perhaps the originator of the modern supercar and introduced four-wheel drive and electronic systems.

Lamborghini Aventador is a genuine sensation, wherever it goes, especially in it’s striking signature colour.

Can’t not love the sensational Ford GT.

This may look like Eleanor, but it’s actually a modern Mustang customised to resemble a classic Shelby.

When GM decided to kill off Pontiac and hence put an end to the iconic Trans Am, musclecar fans mourned, some, however, decided to build their own.

Blue steel, this Viper was something of an interloper in the company of Corvettes.

‘Am I in the right place for the classic curios exhibit?’ asks the little Mini Moke, briefly parked in the Supercars area. You just never know what car you’ll come across in Kuwait!

This highly modified Honda S2000 looked mean, and ready-to-race – in fact it seemed to wear it’s battle scars well.
