We get a sneak peak at the all-new Conti Supersports – fastest four-seater in the world

What car am I talking about? 700bhp, 750lb ft or torque, 336kph and 0-100kph in 3.5 seconds – Ferrari? Lamborghini? Perhaps Mercedes AMG?

Nope, it’s a classy Brit-Bruiser – the new second gen 2017 Bentley Continental Supersports.

The embargo on this car broke five days ago, but we got wind of a uniquely painted example that is doing a tour of the region, and was hidden away in the new Bentley Emirates showroom at Sheikh Zayed Road.

It’s the car they show to VIP customers, securing orders even before the car is technically on sale.

We snuck in to take a look and there it was – Red and Black with the big optional rear spoiler fitted and lots of carbon bits – see video above.

Unlike the first of the first gen Supersports, which came with no rear seats and hard racing buckets up front, this time Bentley has conceded that their customers don’t really take the cars on track days – they usually have other weapons for that.

So this time, it’s full spec comfort all the way. With all you’d expect on the inside of a Bentley, plus carbon trim with chequered pattern and extraordinary three-tone upholstery – two of leather and the central inserts of alcantara.

The old 6.0-litre W12 has been worked over to increase horsepower by 79bhp and torque by an extraordinary 160lb ft compared to the previous Supersports. It’s mated to an 8-speed auto.

Advanced torque vectoring, improved aero, lighter 21inch forged alloy wheels (by about 20kg), plus a 5kg weight saving from the optional titanium exhaust system.

No idea what it costs – but these Bentleys are always one million dirhams plus lots more. Anyway, if you have to ask… Oh and BTW, you’d better not procrastinate – they’ll only make 700 of these.
