2014 Detroit Auto Show: Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge
High performance version of the Q50 saloon
By Shahzad Sheikh
Detroit sees the debut of the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge which is described as a concept car that expresses Infiniti’s ‘design vision of a high-performance Q50 premium sports sedan’.
In other words, this is what the Infiniti’s equivalent of Lexus’ F-Sport will look like.
It gets bespoke aerodynamic carbon fibre bodywork, and it’s lower and wider than the regular car. Alledgedly only the front doors and the roof arch are the same as the Q50.
If built (and that’s almost a cert) it will feature 500bhp and 600lb ft of thundering torque – possibly a supercharged V8.
There are front and rear wings and a large bootlid spoiler. The car is finished in unique red paint, with a dark chrome matte finish for the front grille and window surrounds.
