2012 Porsche Sport Turismo Concept

Well, we didn’t see this one coming, that’s for sure. At the Paris Motor Show, Paris has unexpectedly launched a competitor to the CLS Shooting Brake, the Sport Turismo concept and it’s the most beautiful Porsche in years, proof that occasionally they can do a new design. When they’re not bathing in money from the Cayenne, that is.
The regular Panamera is quite possibly the least, umm, appealing car in the range, but by making the bum even bigger, Porsche has somehow pulled off a minor miracle. Turns out all they needed was to make it a five door hatch and voila! Sexyness. OK, and the taillights from the 911. And the front from a Cayenne. But you get the idea.
We should point out at this stage that this is only a concept but let’s be honest, no one is fooled; by next year you should be seeing production Sport Turismos down at your local Starbucks. The car on stage in Paris is a hybrid (V6+electric motor) but production STs should have the full range of engines, from V6 to turbo V8s.
