Drive Car Meet at Cafe Rider in Dubai
Dubai’s car guys out in force yesterday to meet and greet US car stars
By Shahzad Sheikh
An amazingly eclectic mix of over 200 cars and bikes descended on Cafe Rider coffee shop and petrolhead hangout in Al Quoz, early yesterday morning for a special Drive & Caffeine & Machine Car Meet arranged for the guys from the Drive YouTube channel.
Special guests on the day were Mike Musto, the host of Big Muscle, along with Matt Farah of /Tuned and Mike Spinelli from After/Drive.
Dubai’s car community got up at the crack of dawn and turned in force with a spectacular array of vehicles including two Porsche 918 Spiders, a Zenvo and a Ferrari 458 Speciale.
Some of my favourites included a 1968 Bullitt-inspired Fastback Ford Mustang, a Beach buggy and of course the legendary Testarossa.
But just flick through the album below and you’ll see there was something for all motoring tastes, including an amazing detailed replica of Bugatti Type 35 custom built at a cost of nearly $300,000.
Being Motoring Middle East, we obviously turned up with a bit of style ourselves: Imthishan brought his brilliantly modified Jeep Wrangler and I took along a Lexus RC F with carbon pack.
It is currently the only RC F with that pack officially registered in the country, and is actually a pre-production car belonging to Al Futtaim – it’s what they call the ‘Goshi Car’. It was a real head-turner and it was a great privilege to drive it around this weekend!
Well done to the guys from Caffeine & Machine and Drive for the event.
Did you go to the Drive Car Meet at Cafe Rider in Dubai? Tell us about it below in the comments.
Dear MME, what a fabulous morning and a thoroughly enjoyable event. The Bugatti was definitely the: “Bug-of-the-Day” . . . and thanks for being so organized and including our little (53) on your photo no. 53 out of 55 – that was also very nicely done! thanks®ards, Graham
Oh yeah, we er… totally did that deliberately. Absolutely we did… 😉 LOL
Hi there,
Great event – will there be any similar events on a more regular basis?
Thanks.
John.
