Recently went to flashy event at the Gucci shop in Dubai Mall’s high-end Fashion Avenue where instead of a clothing, accessories and bling – there sat a car!

The Fiat ‘500 by Gucci’ is now available in the Middle East price at AED95,000 ($25,800) and AED98k ($26,700) for the Convertible version.

The car is meant to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy and Gucci’s 90th anniversary. It’s been customized by Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini in collaboration with Fiat’s Centro Stile.

There’s two exterior colours available – black or white. The black cars has a contrasting black and white interior with chrome trim on the outside. The white car is less overt and features satin chrome on the outside with softer ivory and black interiors.

There are Gucci wheels, Gucci badging and the signature red and green lines of Gucci running along the outside of the car and featuring in the interior. The dashboard is painted with a velvet-effect treatment and the two-tone seats covered in Frau leather featuring “Guccissima” graphics. The soft top in the convertible is black with the characteristic green-red-green Gucci web pattern printed lengthwise.

Kits includes automatic climate control system, seven airbags (front, side, window and knee), Blue&Me system integrated with rear parking sensors, car radio with CD-MP3 player and leather steering wheel with radio controls.

The car is available through Fiat dealers and at Gucci shops you can also pick up the 500 by Gucci collection, including travel accessories, leather goods, tracksuits, bombers, driver gloves, sunglasses and a watch.

Jack Rodencal, Managing Director Chrysler M.E. also took the opportunity to announce that Fiat Middle East operations would now be handled by the offices of Chrysler Middle East in a further merging of the brands as part of the new partnership between Fiat group and Chrysler group.
