Dubai Debut for new 845bhp Korean/Canadian supercar
Korean car collector designs and builds race-style supercar powered by Roush!

There’s a totally new supercar at the Dubai International Motor Show – the de Macross GT1. Born out of the passion of Korean classic car collector Jahong Hur, the car is based on his own sketches inspired by racing cars of the 1960s and early 70s.
Designed and developed in Canada is built around a carbon fibre and aluminium monocoque tub and is a mid-engined two-seater rear-wheel drive and independently adjustable suspension – similar to the system used by Red Bull racing to win the 2010 F1 championship.
For the engine they’ve gone to Ford tuning specialists Roush and procured a mighty 5.4-litre supercharged V8 producing 845bhp and 740lb ft or torque. No performance figures have been released but since it weights about 1380kg this thing is likely to be properly race-car fast.
You want one? Well this is the first car built on the stand. There’s no dealer here in the region yet, but if you’ve set your heart on it, it’ll cost you $1.5million and it takes 5-6 months to build fully personalised to your specification.
