AutoX Championship UAE – Round 1
Fadi Hamada takes first win in his Mitsubishi Evo 9
The first round of the new 2013-2014 season of the UAE AutoX championship kicked off on Friday 20th December at the Jebel Ali Karting Track on the outskirts of Dubai.
Sponsored by the Emirates Motorsports Federation and organized by Motorsport Solutions, it saw 18 contestants from across the region.
Saudi-based Syrian, Fadi Hamada took the overall first place with his Mitsubishi Evo 9 with a fastest lap time of 1:12:28 for the four-wheel drive category. He beat veteran Ra’ed Hassan in his Mitsubishi Evo 6. Ahmad Arafat from Disturbed Racing Team (which were boasting refreshed livery for the season) took third.
In the modified category, Sami AlShibani too first in his Mitsubishi Evo 9, and the Spaniard Marco Planas, grabbed the win in the rear-wheel drive category in his astonishingly little Silvercar buggy.
The event organizers Motorsport Solutions sincerely thanked each of 1000 Dunes and Door to Door for their efforts in sponsoring the first round of AuoX.
The second round will be held on the 17th of January next year.
