2.0-litre engine for Audi A6

Relentless downsizing continues

The Audi A6 comes with two flavours of V6, the 2.8 we tested and a 3.0. It’s a largish executive saloon, so you’d expect nothing less than a six under the bonnet. Well now there’s a four-cylinder unit available to introduce a new entry-level A6.

The ‘base’ car gets a 2.0 TFSI producing 180bhp and 236lb ft of torque over a rev range of 1500-3900rpm. It may not seem like much but it’ll get the car to 100kph in 8.3 seconds and onto a top speed of 226kph, which isn’t tardy at all. Average fuel consumption is just 6.4L/100km and CO2 emissions are less than 149g/km.

The Audi A6 2.0 TFSI comes with extensive standard equipment including the latest MMI (Multi Media Interface) operating system, leather seating surfaces, a multifunction leather steering wheel, electric front seats with memory function for the driver as well as the Audi parking system plus.

Audi also offers a variety of high-tech options including a head-up display, Audi active lane assist, Audi park assist, the Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System and the MMI touch.

There’s also a four-zone automatic air conditioning system with increased performance and the MMI navigation and operating system also in Arabic.

In the GCC the Audi A6 2.0 TFSI is available as of now starting from $44,620. The A6 2.8 FSI quattro and 3.0 TFSI quattro start from $51,726 and $63,705 respectively. All models come with 5 years service and 3 year warranty as a standard.
