2012 Roush Stage 3 Mustang on sale in the UAE
Al Tayer Motors announces 540bhp Roush Stage 3 Mustang

Roush build modified Mustangs in close cooperation with Ford, and they know exactly what they are doing as I discovered last year. The first Middle East-only Roush, the special edition Shamal, proved to be my favourite car of the entire year!
Buoyed by the success of the Shelby-baiting Roush Pony cars (despite owners regularly getting pulled and fined for having just about the loudest exhaust in the business) Dubai and Northern Emirates Ford dealer, Al Tayer Motors, which has the official licence to supply Roush Mustangs, has announced the new 2012 Stage 3 Roush. This car features 540bhp and will cost AED 260,000 ($71,000) from the dealership.
“We received an enthusiastic response from muscle car lovers who enjoy the enhanced performance offered by the ROUSH Stage 3™ Mustang. This year, the added horse power of the new-look car will appeal to motoring enthusiasts who like to do more with their car in their leisure time, such as taking the car to a racing circuit to enjoy the thrilling driving experience it offers,” said Ashok Khanna, Chief Executive Officer, Al Tayer Motors.
The powertrain of this vehicle features the 5.0L 4-valve DOHC TiVCT engine with added R2300 ROUSH supercharger, feeding 10psi of intercooled energy to the already robust Coyote engine. The ROUSHcharger increases the base horsepower from 412bhp to 540bhp.
Worried about it blowing up? Don’t be, it’s tough as nails and the car comes with 3 year/58,000 kilometre full powertrain warranty.
And it should still sound awesome since the ROUSH exhaust system features a unique hollow-chamber muffler design, the sound won’t change over time like a conventional fibreglass packed exhaust would.
As before it’s fitted with unique high-performance Cooper tires (2XS or ultra high performance RS3 tyres) with suspension featuring ROUSH front struts, rear shocks, front and rear springs, front and rear stabilizer bars, jounce bumpers, and anti-wheel hop kit.
New for this year is the colour options package with eight choices including Grabber Blue, White, Kona Blue, Race Red, Candy Red, Black, Ingot Silver and Lava Red; six graphic colours and six graphic accent colours – that’s 288 unique colour combination possibilities. The ROUSH graphics introduce metallic flaking.
Whilst you can have red for the 4-piston, 14-inch rotor system you could also opt for black painted callipers. The wheels are either all new 20-inch Hyper-Black or 20-inch Chrome.
Externally it comes with the ROUSH front fascia with driving lights, chin spoiler, side rocker splitters, rear valence, rear deck-lid spoiler, and newly designed square exhaust tips.
Inside there ROUSH leather seats with an embroidered Stage 3 logo, four-piece performance pedals, illuminated sill plates, newly designed shifter ball in either black or white, and a new interior Stage 3 badge with the car’s serial number engraved.
Nonetheless, it all seems a bit pricey, right? Well now Al Tayer Motors is also offering existing Ford Mustang owners the option to buy a range of ROUSH performance parts – I want that exhaust!
