Cadillac CT6 – the new luxury flagship
We’ve all been waiting a while to see the luxury flagship from Cadillac – here it is

Here at last is the car that Cadillac hopes will take the fight to the flagships from the likes of Mercedes, Audi and BMW – it’s the all-new CT6 – revealed at the New York Auto Show.
It’s said to be packed full of technology and luxury and will be powered by a new 3.0-litre Twin Turbo V6 pushing out 400bhp and 400lb ft of torque through an eight-speed auto driving all four wheels. Normally aspirated 335bhp 3.6-litre V6 variants will also be available.
The structure is aluminium in large part but incorporates other materials to give it stiffness, but Cadillac is still claiming this will be one of the lightest (it’s lighter than the CTS) and most agile full-size luxury saloons out there (a claim probably best held by the Jaguar XJ at present).
The Cadillac CT6 will also feature Active Rear Steer for improved handling, GM’s Magnetic Ride suspension and cylinder deactivation for fuel economy. It’ll obviously get the full complement of Cadillac ‘CUE’ systems plus 360-degree cameras, night vision, self parking and an industry first – Rear Camera Mirror (the rear view mirror is now a screen showing a camera image aft).
The manufacturer is also talking about interior space on par with best selling rivals. It’ll be stacked with quality finishings and gadgets including five massage programs, reclining rear seats with cooling, individual climate controls and a Bose Panaray audio with 34 speakers.
