2013 Hyundai Santa Fe now on sale
Korean SUV officially launched in the Middle East
The 2013 Hyundai Sante Fe is now officially on sale in the Middle East with prices starting from AED89,500 ($24,300) for the entry-level model rising to AED123,300 ($33,500) for the range topping V6.
Hyundai says it rivals cars such as the Toyota Fortuner, Mazda CX-9 and Ford’s Edge and Explorer models. The third generation car comes on the back of sales success for the range which has seen 2.5m sold since it was first introduced in 2000.
Initially on sale as a five-seater, a longer-wheelbase version with three rows of seats will go on sale next year. There are three engines: 3.3-litre V6 producing 270bhp, a 176bhp 2.4-litre four-cylinder and even a torquey 2.2-litre diesel. You can choose between two or four-wheel drive and it’s available with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
Features include navigation, rear camera, electronic parking brake, 4.3-inch monitor, panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, climate control and even a glovebox cooler.
Tom Lee, Head of Hyundai Middle East’s Regional Headquarters, said: “The all-new Santa Fe is the latest demonstration of Hyundai’s ongoing commitment to producing modern, premium cars.” He continued: “The new generation Santa Fe will not only appeal to existing customers in the region with its fresh design and improved levels of standard technology, but will attract a new range of Middle East buyers looking for a stylish, premium and authentic SUV.”
Correction: The ones on sale here are the 7 seater in the SWB and its not the 5 seater.
Those are optional foldaway temporary seats. According to the press release: ‘The all-new Santa Fe will be available in the Middle East in a sporty five seat form, with the option of two fold-down seats in the boot. A long-wheelbase version with three proper rows of seats will go on sale in 2013.’
