Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake

The CLS Shooting Brake was revealed at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and looks pretty slick. But this is more like it – the CLS 63 AMG version.

The biturbo 5.5-litre V8 offers 55bhp as standard and an optional boost to take it to 557bhp, with up to 590lb ft of peak torque from just 2000rpm, it’ll run from standstill to 100kph in just 4.3seconds and onto a limited top speed of 250kph.

There are four transmission modes available for the MCT 7-speed Speedshift and loads of clever kit for the air suspension to sportify its behaviour.

You can recognise the AMG version from its front apron with cross strut bar, the radiator grille, unique bonnet, and the titanium grey triple spoke alloy wheels – all of which you’d probably be able to get as part of the AMG pack anyway.

Expect the car to launch around November globally.
